The skin is an organ of elimination just like the kidneys, lymph, lungs, liver and colon. More than a kilo of waste products are discharged through the skin every day provided the pores are not blocked. If the pores are blocked then the elimination of toxins becomes less effective and the other eliminative organs will have to increase their labour to compensate – probably becoming overworked.
